WhatsApp is giving a musical twist to status updates with a new feature. The company continues to explore interesting tools for the chat application related to interface, AI, and other segments. These changes make the app more useful and interactive for users.
In recent times, WhatsApp has enhanced the status updates section in many ways. It has redesigned the user interface, added a new “like-reaction” feature, and more.
Now WhatsApp is bringing a musical feature twist for status updates in the form of its latest beta. The feature is inspired by Instagram and will enable users to make their statuses even more interesting for viewers.
Spotted in the WhatsApp Android beta 2.25.2.5 version, the company now allows users to share music through status updates. Let’s learn about this feature.
While uploading status, users will find a new music icon at the top of the drawing editor. Tapping on this icon will let you search for your favorite songs, artists, or trending tracks on the status updates easily. It is similar to the Instagram ‘music story sharing’ feature.
After selecting the song, users can choose their preferred portion of the song. You can use a song for 15 seconds on a picture-based status while for a video, the duration will depend on the length of the selected clip. Thus, you can easily customize the music part as well.
WhatsApp Musical Status Updates
Just like Instagram, the new addition will make your status updates even more engaging for viewers. One can see the selected song on the status updates alongside the main picture or video. Tapping on the song by viewers will lead them to the artist’s Instagram profile.
The musical feature is currently in the beta phase and available to limited testers. WhatsApp will soon release it for other users via a stable version.
